Triumph is a tiny moon in orbit around the Heinlein gas giant. The moon has become a refuge for those who want nothing to do with modern life. The settlers here live like the Amish folk of Earth-That-Was, using very little advanced technology. The people here follow their own customs. In one of the towns the young girls are raised in a convent know as the Maiden House. Here, they are trained to be subservient and respond to a man's needs. They are even married off in trade, which is a form of currency for those who have little else in way of trade.
